From Marine Corps NCO to Behavioral Health Navigator

Twenty years of removing friction from broken systems

Wayne's Story

The Journey

Wayne Holt's path to building GuidonHub wasn't planned. It emerged from twenty years of recognizing the same pattern across completely different systems: the resources exist, but the friction of accessing them defeats the people who need them most.

The Marine Corps Foundation

As a Marine Corps NCO, Wayne learned that leadership isn't about having all the answers—it's about removing obstacles so people can do their jobs. That principle stayed with him long after his service ended.

Education Navigation (2010-2015)

Working in education support, Wayne saw veterans struggle not because the GI Bill didn't exist, but because navigating it felt like decoding a foreign language while fighting the VA bureaucracy. He became an expert translator—not just of policy, but of the hidden barriers that stopped veterans from accessing their earned benefits.

Healthcare Recruitment (2015-2021)

In healthcare recruitment across Oregon, Wayne connected nurses with hospitals throughout the state. He learned every Oregon county, every healthcare system's quirks, and how to create smooth pathways between people who needed each other but couldn't find each other. The skill wasn't recruitment—it was navigation.

Behavioral Health Leadership (2021-2024)

As Director of Behavioral Health operations, Wayne optimized systems serving thousands of patients. He built infrastructure that reduced clinician burnout, improved patient outcomes, and proved that the right technological connective tissue could make entire fragmented systems work better. The playbook was tested and proven.

GuidonHub Launch (2025)

When Wayne looked at Oregon's veteran services landscape, he saw the same fragmentation he'd spent his career fixing—but at catastrophic human cost. Fifty organizations. Hundreds of programs. Veterans in crisis waiting 66 days for mental health care not because the services don't exist, but because the navigation is impossible.

GuidonHub brings together everything Wayne has learned: Marine Corps leadership principles, education navigation expertise, Oregon healthcare system knowledge, and behavioral health infrastructure optimization—all focused on the population he understands most deeply: veterans navigating a broken system.

Why Oregon. Why Veterans.

"I've spent years in mental health outside Oregon. I wanted to work in Oregon and I wanted to work with veterans who went through the same challenges that I did, simply because I understand them, I've experienced them, and I know how to leverage AI and business processes to reduce that friction."

— Wayne Holt

Oregon isn't random. It's home. Wayne knows the geography, the provider landscape, the county-level quirks that make navigation complicated. He's built relationships across the state's healthcare systems.

Veterans aren't an abstract demographic. They're Wayne's community. He's lived the DD-214 barriers, the VA bureaucracy, the feeling of knowing help exists somewhere but not being able to find it.

GuidonHub exists because Wayne has the rare combination of deep veteran empathy and proven systems-building expertise. He's not learning on veterans' backs. He's applying twenty years of navigation infrastructure success to the population that needs it most.
